Coming clean

As a kid growing up in the 80's I remember looking at "stars" and thinking "boy, they have it made." That the grass is greener on the other side...is it or is it not???? Recently, Valerie Bertinelli released a book about her life and weight issues. I can totally relate to weight issues!! Praise God, 12 pounds are gone, but it seems as though I'm stuck there. Anyway... I remember watching One Day at a Time and thinking this girl is so cute and sweet. You know, wanting to be "just like her."
Then she had to go and marry this guy...probably one of the best guitar players around. Someone totally wild and seemed to always have a good time. Who didn't want to hang out with someone fun and exciting???

Actually, come to think of it, I did hang around a guy who was totally wild, exciting and ALWAYS had a good time. But in the midst of all of that there was drug abuse, alcohol abuse and suddenly the grass didn't seem any greener.

Fortunately, we found someone who helped us through, maybe one day these two will find Him also. Isn't it strange how you think some people have it made...

Another thing that I will admit to is...We use to watch Saturday Night Wrestling from the Sportatorium in Dallas, Texas. Now, come on...admit it. YOU did too!!! Of course, everyone wanted the Von Erich's to win. Everyone wanted their autographs and to be near them. OH, and to be able to do "THE CLAW."
People actually paid money to see them wrestle at Texas Stadium and have saved memorabilia from those matches. Can you believe that?????
Anyway, just thought I would blog about ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!! And reminisce about the past, a little brain dumping. I need to do that every once in a while!!!

Don't let Gina see the last picture.

Just wanted you to know that "the Claw" is alive and well at the Holt household. It has been toned way down these days. It is brought out more for little girls entertainment(tickles) than for the gross brutality it knew at the hands of the master, Fritz, on all of those evil arch rivals in the days of glory at the Sportitorium.

Buddy, please don't tell me you have a pair of those Von Erick style speedo wrestler briefs do you??? I'll always be sure and knock before entering your house....

That would be a good idea Mike...it would be bad for me to have to give you the claw clad only in my speedo.

Um, I was going to comment, but the whole speedo thing has me grossed out at the moment!

And (to Kenya)...for the record, not EVERYONE who grew up in the 80's wore speedos, but I can do a mean "claw", and the moon walk, and (for the ladies out there)...remember Units clothing?...oh! and those twisty beads that you clip together? (I can't remember the name of them)

Kenya, now there is nothing wrong with growing up in the 80's!! yes, I remember Units, the "moonwalk" and when Michael Jackson was normal. I must have missed the twisty beads?? Refresh my memory.

surely you remember the twisty beads that you would wear while clad in a speedo, with one white glove on your hand, doing the moonwalk?
