Winter Weather

BBRRRRR...man it's cold! Sleet and freezing rain here in Texas! There is no way I am getting out in this. The little town I live in shuts down when the weather turns bad, except for Wal Mart!!

The public school was out for MLK day so we took off also. We do need to take a spelling test and work on some math sheets. We'll sit down and huddle together on the bed so Amanda can do her work.

These things generally represent the personality of the author. From looking back at the post I created I think my personality is all over the place. I have jumped from homeschool to marching band season, church to other peoples personalities.

So let me talk about church:

I don't know why it upsets me so when people don't come to church...I really try hard not to let it bother me. I don't know whether I should be offended by it or blow it off. I'm sure Jesus gets offended by us. I know I have offended him many times!

I am trying. Being a pastor's wife is a catch 22. If you are friends with people in the congregation then people talk about you. If your not friends with people in the congregation then people talk about you. People get offended, people don't like change therefore they use that as an excuse. It becomes their way out.

You know...I'm glad Jesus doesn't blow me off when I offend him or finds some excuse to find His way out! Just imagine how depressing that would be. Not to have hope, not to have the knowledge that if I were to die today that I would go to Heaven.

Some people are so sad. They are living their life in a pit and think that's life. They don't realize that moving, going to another church or not going to church is not going to change their pit lifestyle. All you can do is pray for them. It is particularly sad when it is your family. Sometimes you may have to risk them hating you in order to get the message across to them. What they do with that knowledge is completely up to them.

Our Father who art in Heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come thy will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
