Texas Weather

What a difference a day makes... we have a saying here in Texas. If you don't like the weather here, wait, it'll change.

We woke up to freezing rain, sleet, ice and snow. The schools around the area closed except for Dallas ISD. Michael didn't have to go to school today. The seniors would have only had to go until 10am due to the under classmen taking the TAKS test.

Amanda was so excited about the weather that she thought she would get a day off also...Ha Ha, weather doesn't affect Homeschool!!!

It was funny...Michael slept most of the day and we worked. We have started History and so far she is liking it. I love history any way. We are still trying to get subtraction down better. She freaks out when you have more than 2 digits.

But with Gods help and working on it (practice makes perfect) she will get it. We also started fractions. Why didn't someone teach me how to do fractions like BJU? I would have totally understood it. I didn't have good math teachers when I was young.

Speaking of young...I will be 40 years old next week. Man, I never thought I would be 40, out of shape and a stay at home mom. I believe I am slowly becoming depressed!!! I guess all of this should motivate me to do something...nah, probably not.

And another thing...I am trying to do the whole "Fruit of the Spirit" thing...love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfullness, gentleness, self-control. Oh boy...is that hard especially dealing with people.

Amanda turned 9 this month. She is getting so big. We took the easy way out and had her birthday at McDonald's. I took this picture of her and her friend and cousin. They are all homeschooled. It's funny...we all use different things to teach them and they are all very smart kids.
Of course the princess belongs to me. From the time she was born her Aunt has called her a "princess". She actually believes it. She sometimes forgets that her mom is the QUEEN!!!

Stay Warm!!! Who knows, tomorrow maybe 80 degrees and the next day we will have a tornado plus we are still in a drought...only in TEXAS!!!!!
