Wasted Time

Today has been a completely and totally wasted day!!! We DID NOT accomplish anything!

We left the house this morning at 9 am to make it to the half price book store in Mesquite. We got there and began looking for books. I had our little list and couldn't find a one. NOT. A ONE.

I am really trying not to spend alot on Homeschool curriculum for next year, so trying to find the books I needed at 1/2 price books was going to help out. But the aggravation of having to scan ALL those books and then not finding any is NOT WORTH IT!!!! I'd rather just pay the extra $$$ and order online!!!

Next, off to the Mall next door. It's been awhile since I've been in Town East Mall. Did you know that there isn't a book store in there anymore??? B. Dalton Books use to be there but NO MORE.

Not happy...flesh may be about to appear.

So...we left.

We headed to Galloway which is a couple of blocks behind the mall. But guess what??? I turned left instead of right and from then on, I couldn't tell you where we were!

Our little excursion turned into a BIG WASTE OF TIME. Somehow I ended up around R L Thorton Frwy and Jim Miller road. Now, Jim Miller sounded familiar to me so I pulled over and called my MOMMA!!!

I figured the husband was in meetings and didn't want to interrupt plus I was in NO mood to be laughed at. Besides, Mom laughed at me plenty!!!

Anyway...

Mom got us to "the grove". Now, there is nothing Pleasant about the Grove. Every time we visit Pa Pa's house we duck as we head to the door. But I was never so happy as when we hit Buckner and headed to 175.
I've learned my lesson! I will be heading East from now on instead of West! Besides, the East has prettier scenery!!!!

If your going to say check the library, I did. The one here in town didn't have any of the books on my list either.

Like I said...today was a wasted day.

Phil buys many of the kids books used on Amazon.

awwww...but Jennifer had so much for you and within your budget...yeaaa! I try to shop as local as I can... by the time I pay for gas to get to the city+the trip to chic-filet and whatever else I get wranggled into buying up there, I normally come out worse financially than if I'd just stayed in town.
Sorry that your trip stunk! I'm glad that you made it back "home" in time for art!

Lol -- I still call my Momma first, too. :-)

But I still go West instead of East... because it's what I know... although I still end up getting lost that direction, too. :-)

Amazon is the way to go!!
