Tomorrow will be my one year blogging anniversary. Can you believe how fast a year goes by?
My oldest graduated in May and will be leaving for Gospel for Asia in 2 weeks. We bought him sheets, towels, passport to go to India, my little boy is grown up. Oh, in case you have decided to sponsor Michael, please do so and send in your $$$$$. As of right now he will be able to stay for 4 months!!
Gospel for Asia
We will begin our 2 year of . We have a schedule ready, lesson plans and I am so looking forward to it! Yes, it is scary and at times you want to pull your hair out! But when your child FINALLY gets something...it is so AMAZING!!!
So much has happened in a year...where do I start??? I began this "blog" as a way of keeping up with the kids, it was MY secret. A way of putting down feelings about anything and everything, a way of venting, a brain dump. Now come to find out there are more people than I thought who have blogs and I have been fortunate to be able to add them to my links. There goes my secret, LOL!!!
1)Mike is still doing the DBA thing
2) football season is about to start with NO marching band for us, boo hoo.
3)We got carpet!!! and painted the entire house.
4)Michael and I fixed the little storage building roof and floor.
5)Cornerstone is stronger than ever! Thank you God!!!
6)VBS turned out to be a wonderful time!
7)I have made new friends and hope to get to know them all even better.
8)We have LIVE music at church!!! BLESSING!!! Michael got to play the drums in the praise group, I knew those hours of drumming would pay off somehow!!!
9)Amanda has made new friends, which she is excited about! And most of them are homeschooled also.
10)Mike is coming together with like minded men who have become great friends and accountability partners.
11)and how could I forget...Melissa
Wow!!! That's just 11 and I could go on!!!
Melissa is Michael's "friend"...I am secretly betrothing them...don't tell them!!! She is a wonderful, precious young lady that I have known since she was in the 7th grade. They "went
together" in Middle school. They were "team supremes" together for the white team and started hanging around again their senior year. If it is meant to be then God will get them to the point where they need to be. But I'm still secretly...Hey, one day I will be a grandma and I intend on having pretty grandbabies!!!
We would all go to Whataburger after football games and eat. She usually would get a pancake while we were "pigging" out. She will be attending DBU this year and will leave about 4 days before Michael. So be sure to keep her in your prayers.
It seems like everything is finally working the way it should. Mike mentioned today that "pioneer Buddy" wants to begin a class on Wednesday nights, which would be wonderful. I did mention to him that between all of the ministries, lifegroups and Oak street that he shouldn't forget his ministry at home. I know I'm being selfish again but he wasn't around and sober all the time when Michael was growing up. I just want stability for Amanda and a good relationship between him and his little girl!! I probably want that most of all for her, since I didn't have it.
One thing we decided to do as a family is take time in the evenings at 8pm to read a book together. We began reading With Daring Faith by Rebecca Henry Davis. It's a biography of Amy Carmichael. If you ever get the chance to read it, do so. This woman had DARING FAITH!!!
We haven't finished yet and I'm anxious to see what happens.
The next book on our list is John Bunyan: The Tinker of Bedford by William Deal. He is the man who wrote Pilgrims Progress.
The one thing I would like to figure out to do is design websites...it can not be that hard!! All you need are the right programs. Then I can make my blog "pretty"!! You see I'm cheap and don't want to pay someone to do it for me. But I am all about "pretty"!! Maybe during the course of the school year I will be able to achieve that.
Anyway, God has been so good to us! We are so fortunate to be where we are! We will see how fortunate we are after the first week of school and we are back to our routines! We've been staying up late and getting up late...I am WAY TO OLD to do that!
This week I have been worthless and I am totally regretting that feeling! Beginning Monday, we are getting back into the swing of things. So much happens in a year, wonder what I will be blogging about in August of 2008?

Happy "blogging" anniversary. You should know by now that there is nothing secret in Mabank! :)
You guys are a blessing! Keep up the blogging!
Hi Dreama, just wanted to say I love your blog. And Happy Anniversary!
I'm so excited for Michael to do GFA and then go to India next summer. It's such an amazing place and I can't wait to hear all about GFA.
I was talking with Gina about Amy Carmichael yesterday. I've never read about her (can you believe it?), so they are going to let me borrow one of their books. That's so neat that you're reading the book as a family. Very cool idea.
Also, thanks for making us feel welcome at Cornerstone. It was very difficult for us to find a church that would be accepting of Noah - but I know God led us to the right place.
Leslie
Well, what other secrets are you keeping from me??
You secretly had a blog and I have secretely read your blog for about 5 months... : 0
One thing I have learned is that I love your brain dumps. I love reading about the love you have for your, our, kids. The struggles you have spiritually. the love you have for God and your way out there ramblings, look a cat... And of course your humor.
I thank God he caused our paths to cross twenty something years ago and feel unworthy of the love you have shown me. Especially when you had all the right to not love anything about me.
Keep the faith Dreama, love God and allow Him to take care of the rest. Happy blogging anniversary, and keep the brain dumps coming.
Love you!!!
Buddy...Thanks a lot and you're right, nothing is secret in Mabank!!
Leslie...I am so glad you and the boys are coming to Cornerstone! Your boys are precious! Hopefully Simeon's schedule will allow him to come with you guys. Did he get the job with Embarq? The book we read about Amy Carmichael was very good, there were times that I thought I am going to cry reading it. She had HUGE Faith!!
See y'all Sunday
You have been reading my blog for months??? And you didn't say anything???? Talk about secrets, LOL :)
Yes, this is where I dump stuff...most of the time I know that it usually goes in one ear and out the other...:0
I love you too!!!
awww...Mike and Dreama, you made me tear up!
